Dr. Sarah Dawson was educated at Oxford University and University College London, graduating with honours in 2010. She completed her anaesthesia training in the UK, including advanced training in anaesthesia for hepato-biliary surgery (including liver transplant), cardiothoracic anaesthesia, vascular anaesthesia, and peri-operative medicine. In 2018, she was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (UK).
After relocating to Perth in 2023, Dr. Dawson completed a twelve month fellowship at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and was awarded fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. She brings a wealth of experience with diverse subspecialty interests, including hepato-biliary surgery, major colorectal surgery, sarcoma surgery, head and neck surgery, obstetrics, neurosurgery, and orthopaedic surgery (including nerve blocks).
Dr. Dawson has a special interest in Patient Blood Management, and Peri-operative Medicine, having completed her POETTs accreditation in cardiopulmonary exercise testing. She also enjoys teaching, and is accredited as an ALS2 instructor. Additionally, she is a trained mentor and mental health first aider, dedicated to supporting her colleagues and enhancing the well-being of her team.
Currently, Dr. Dawson balances her private practice with public work at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. She is committed to providing compassionate care, aiming to put patients at ease during their procedures and minimise any anxiety or discomfort.
Outside of work, Dr. Dawson is a busy mum who enjoys giving her son lots of cuddles and reading him stories. She also enjoys the beautiful lifestyle and weather Perth has to offer.
