Dr Luniewski’s clinical interests include anaesthesia for major surgery including upper gastrointestinal surgery, neurosurgery, plastic and orthopaedic surgery.
He is interested in pain management and the director of Acute Pain Service in Fiona Stanley Hospital. He work’s on development of new analgesic guidelines aiming to improve patients satisfaction and minimizing side effects of currently used painkillers (COCOPOPS – Cessation of Conventional Opioids Peri-Operative Pathway). He is also a PhD candidate at Murdoch University researching new genetic treatment for chronic pain.
Registered fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. He hold’s a public appointment at Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospital Group and is accredited throughout most of the Private hospitals in Perth.
Dr Luniweski is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Western Australia involved in education of medical students and research.
Dr. Luniewski will speak with you prior to your surgery. For a majority of patients, this will occur in hospital on the day of surgery. If you are having major surgery, you will be asked to complete a health questionnaire. Should your medical history or surgical procedure warrant a pre-operative consultation, this will be arranged by his rooms.
