Dr Kate Steinfort is a Specialist Anaesthetist, gaining her FANZCA (Fellowship of Australia and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists) in 2024. She is currently a consultant anaesthetist at Fiona Stanley Hospital, where she provides comprehensive anaesthetic care across a broad range of surgical specialties.
Kate completed her medical degree at Monash University, Melbourne, in 2013. To further her postgraduate education, she completed a Master of Medicine through University of Sydney in 2017.
Kate commenced her anaesthesia training at The Alfred hospital in Melbourne, before relocating to Brisbane where she completed a fellowship in anaesthesia for Major Gastrointestinal Surgery at Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital. While she enjoys working with all specialities, she has a keen interest in anaesthesia for orthopaedics including trauma, obstetrics & gynaecology, urology and colorectal surgery.
With a strong interest in education and mentorship, Kate is actively involved in teaching and supervision of anaesthesia trainees at Fiona Stanley Hospital. She is a current supervisor of General Anaesthesia Fellows and assists with recruitment and rostering of the trainee cohort.
After completion of the online health survey, Dr Steinfort will contact most patients by phone prior to their surgery.
