Dr Stevens studied Medicine at the University of Western Australia and completed his degree with Honours in 2000. After working at Fremantle hospital for a number of years he undertook Anaesthesia training through the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists completing his Fellowship in 2007.
During this training he won the prestigious Renton Prize for the best results in the Anaesthetic Specialist exams across Australasia.
Upon completion of his Fellowship he worked at Fremantle, Rockingham and Kaleeya Hospitals as a Consultant Anaesthetist. While at Fremantle Hospital he held the position of supervisor of training for the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. He has worked as an Anaesthetist in a voluntary capacity in Tanzania with Rafiki Surgical Missions and is on the Medical Advisory Committee at Bethesda Hospital and the Anaesthetic Audit Committee at St John of God Hospital Subiaco.
Dr Stevens now works exclusively in private practice across all the major private hospitals in Perth. He has a particular interest in regional Anaesthesia and teaching in clinical practice.
