Dr Diyana Ishak was educated at the University of Adelaide and completed her early medical training at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Adelaide) and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.
She completed her anaesthetic training in both Hobart and Perth and was admitted as a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2020. This includes further sub-specialty training in Regional Anaesthesia and Research at Royal Perth Hospital.
She has a special interest in Perioperative Medicine and has completed a Masters degree in Perioperative Medicine with Monash University during her anaesthetic training.
She currently mixes her private work with her public appointment at Royal Perth Hospital and enjoys her work thoroughly. She has a wide range of anaesthetic interests, including providing nerve blocks for surgery. She loves to know her patients well and aims to comfort and care for them with a friendly face during their procedure.
Dr Ishak is a mother of three and enjoys giving her kids cuddles, tickles and reading them stories. She otherwise spends time with her husband trying to find the best fried chicken in town.
