Dr Catherine Fuller studied medicine at The University of Western Australia, graduating with honours in 2002. She joined the Western Australian Anaesthesia training program and completed fellowships in advanced airway skills at Royal Perth Hospital and in echocardiography and cardiac anaesthesia at Sydney’s Westmead Hospital.

Since attaining her Specialist Anaesthetist qualifications in 2010, Dr Fuller has worked in a variety of roles in anaesthesia and emergency aeromedical retrieval. These include Consultant Anaesthetist appointments at Royal Perth Hospital and Joondalup Health Campus, and Retrieval Consultant roles with The Royal Flying Doctor Service and Careflight, encompassing a multitude of locations Australia wide. Dr Fuller now works predominantly in private practice, with accreditation at the majority of private hospitals in Perth.

Dr Fuller continues to take an active role in medical education, completing several post specialist qualifications. She has championed the role of ultrasound in anaesthesia and critical care, developing and supervising an innovative critical care echocardiography fellowship. In addition to this, she has been an instructor with the University of Melbourne for several years, teaching ultrasound and regional anaesthesia to fellow doctors. Dr Fuller also teaches advanced life support, crisis management and emergency procedures to clinical staff of all disciplines.

Clinical Practice

Dr Fuller is experienced and skilled at providing anaesthesia for a wide range of surgical specialties. Her clinical practice involves caring for both adult and paediatric patients, including those who are critically ill or injured. She has particular interests in anaesthesia for trauma, ENT surgery, orthopaedics, maxillofacial and plastics procedures. Her broad and highly skilled background, combined with her friendly and sensitive approach, ensures optimal care for her patients, allowing them to be confident and at ease.
